Benefits of Jasmine in Skin Care Products

The holiday season is amongst us and during the holidays, many of us find it important to celebrate with the people that we love.  Some may even view the holidays as having a romantic vibe, encouraging expressions of love.  Like the romance of young lovers, the sweet fragrance of jasmine is associated with seduction and love.  The jasmine flower only blooms at night and is the scent of many wonderful perfumes around the world.

I chose jasmine to formulate the Ca’Mora Jasmine Organic Body Oil due to the many wonderful skin health benefits that it offers.  Let’s discuss the amazing properties of jasmine that can help improve the health and vitality of your skin leaving your feeling beautiful both inside and out.

Jasmine oil is an essential oil derived from the white flowers of the common jasmine plant, also known as Jasminun officinale. The flower is believed to originate in Iran, but can now also be found in tropical climates.  For centuries, jasmine has been popular for its sweet, romantic fragrance and has been used in some of the world’s best-known perfumes, including Chanel No. 5. It’s also a common ingredient in alcohol, sweet treats, and desserts.

Natural Antiseptic Quality

Some of the most expensive facial cleansers and scrubs contains ingredients such as benzoic acid and benzyl benzoate.  These elements fight bacterial growth on the skin reducing acne breakouts and inflammation.  These wonderful antiseptic ingredients are found naturally in the blooms of the jasmine flower. As a result, jasmine oil is an ideal product to use on the skin to aide in the resolution of acne wounds and scars.

Anti-inflammatory Properties

Herbs which have naturally occurring anti-inflammatory properties make wonderful addition to skin care cosmetics.  Jasmine oil is known for its ability to promote wound healing. Through its ability to promote the formation of granulation tissue encouraging the growth of new blood vessel development, the jasmine leaves promote wound healing. The essential oils of the jasmine plant have a gel-like consistency which prove to be the perfect solution for resolving dry, rough, flaky, or peeling skin issues.  Jasmine has consistently been a resolution for common skin irritations such as acne, psoriasis, eczema, and dermatitis.

Improved Moisture and Hydration

Jasmine oil is able to help improve the natural moisture balance in the skin by stabilizing sebum production.  This results in fewer acne breakouts, improved skin elasticity, and protection from damaging ultraviolet rays which prematurely age the skin. Your healthy, radiant skin is able to reveal itself.

Mood Enhancement

There are currently studies being conducted evaluating the impact of jasmine essential oils on mood.  Jasmine is rich in flavonoid antioxidants.  When consumed orally, they are thought to reduce oxidative stress promoting a mild sedative, relaxing effect on the mind and body.  The use of jasmine oil at bedtime may give new meaning to the concept of getting one’s beauty sleep.

In the Ca’Mora Organic Jasmine Body Oil I infuse organic jasmine leaves with organic jasmine essential oils for weeks prior to bottling.  The aromatic scent is amazing and the softness that it restores to my skin is unparalleled.  Learn more about the Ca’Mora Jasmine Oil.
